My name is Jeremy MacLachlan and I am the owner and operator of Jeremy MacLachlan Landscape Design and Construction. The love of horticulture and working with the land was instilled in me as a youngster, as I was born on a large fruit farm in northern Michigan. Although I left the farm at a young age when my father entered the military, occasional return visits to my grandparents' farm were all I needed to keep my interests alive.

After spending my teenage years in Atlanta, I enrolled at the University of Georgia and began studying horticulture. After spending four years studying in classrooms and labs, it was time for me to get my hands dirty! I spent the next few years working for a large residential landscape company before relocating to Massachusetts, my wife's home state.

Landscaping is my passion - it's simply what I love to do. After several years of working for other companies I found myself moving up the ranks and spending far too much time at a desk and too little time "playing in the dirt." It was at this point I knew it was time for me to start my own business. My family has grown along with the business as my wife and I now have three young sprouts - Rocco, Cormac, and Maeve. I am currently working on my own outdoor living space to include a play area, patio, fire pit, sitting walls and a water garden. Your projects take precedence over my own, however, so my place is a work in progress!

I believe the secrets to my ongoing success are:

• Ongoing education

My main goal when I meet potential clients is to build a relationship and identify their particular needs. To me, selling is secondary as the sales and referrals will come naturally if I take the time to build the relationships. Because of this philosophy, my business continues to grow at a healthy pace and I have a long list of happy customers who continue to call me back for additional projects and refer me to their family and friends.

Even with growth and the addition of employees, I will continue to be the person answering your phone call or responding to your email, meeting you at your house to formulate a design you will love, and most importantly still "playing in the dirt" to complete the landscape of your dreams!!!
